Thank you to all my returning veteran volunteers,

and to my new volunteers.

I’m soooo glad you signed up to work with us!

I know you had a good time because you told me so.

This year we sold right up to the $9500 mark.

That’s incredible!

We owe it all to you.

I hope everyone comes back for our Spring fair in support of reading,

volunteering, and of course SHOPPING!

Can’t wait to see you and do it all again!

In the meantime…

if there was a book, or two that you wished you had purchased at the fair,

you can still go on our link at Scholastic.

The students have already been asking me for weeks,

“WHEN?   WHEN?   WHEN?”

Soon, soon, soon, I tell them!  …and now it’s here.

I’m hoping we see some new faces volunteering here in the library for our fair.

Of course, I always look forward to my veteran volunteers coming back each year to help.

The students look forward to seeing them also!

To all our new families here at St. Anastasia, please feel welcome to sign up for as much,

or as little time as you can give.

You’ll meet all the children that your sons and daughters go to school with.

You may even get to meet their parents.

THE GHOSTS OF BOOK FAIRS PAST!

*****

**

Thank you all… again…

for making our 2018-19 Book Fairs a success!!

Our Spring Scholastic Book Fair was very successful, and it’s all due to you!

Thank you to my returning volunteers, and a few new ones too.

Setting up my fair is a breeze with Nicole Silva, Charlotte Rohrbough and Melissa Perez!

And, of course, Nancy Hallford and Adam Bookspan are both wonderful.

I’ve come to count on them so much throughout the week of the fair.

They have been working with me, for quite a few years now!

Why?  I don’t know…  because they’re wonderful??!!

It’s the only answer!!

With Adam’s daughter graduating this year we’re going to be at a loss, Nancy!!

Whatever will we do??

Hmmmm…  I’m thinking…   Matthew Weber???

We sold well over $8600 worth of merchandise this week.

That’s awesome!!

You know, the book fair is the only fundraiser for our library, so every sale goes a long way in purchasing new titles for the best room in the house [school]!!

We love our library!!

Just the other day, a rainstorm blew in…  several boys were so happy

they got stuck over here in the library!

That meant a lot to me!

Some have even commented to me that it smells like home when they walk in the library.

That meant even more!!

I feel quite privileged to be able to run the library, and at the same time be here

with the students making them feel at home.

Helping them feel that this is the place where they’d like to get stuck in a rainstorm!

Two former students who are now next door in John Carroll HS

stopped by a week, or two ago.

They just wanted to come over and be in the library again for a little while, they said.

They missed it!!

The boys had realized now, how nice the library really was, and how big it is.

It didn’t seem so big when they were here, but now in coming back it seemed gigantic.

Well, it is pretty big and we love it!!

I love to hear all the sweet and sometimes silly sentiments.

They never get old!!

So, with that said I thank you all again,

for supporting our library through our annual book fairs.

It means so much to me, and all of our students who love the library!

We couldn’t do it without you!

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!!

The Autumnal Equinox is upon us!!

What does that mean, you ask?

It means the end of summer!

On a happier note, it also means the official start of the Fall season

with cooler weather, gorgeous colors, apple cider, pumpkins and bonfires.

More importantly, there’s FUN  at the

Fall Book Fair & Harvest Fest which will be happening soon!!

This year we are proud to host a new company

for our Fall Fair~

The Good News! Book Fair

“We have a great selection of fun, and inspiring books, CD’s, movies and Christian themed gifts for K-8 grade students, teachers, and parents.

We offer more than Bibles and saints biographies.

We have fun and wholesome, age appropriate picture books, middle grade fiction, and

young adult novels for teens!

Titles are leveraging many genres including: mysteries, thrillers, action/adventure, historical fiction, and non-fiction that captures the interest of school students while also introducing and/or reinforcing faith and virtue related themes.

The products are selected from top Catholic publishers and other Christian denomination gift companies. We have T-shirts, custom jewelry, and other fun items to sell.”

We can’t wait!

St. Anastasia Catholic School welcomes…

…and we can’t wait for you to volunteer to help us welcome this

You all did a great job!

I am so lucky to have you as volunteers!

I think we all had a great time together working with the kids,

A LOOK BACK AT LAST YEAR….

 groovy_facebook_cover

2015-16

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Scholastic Book Fairs!

We had so much fun!  Not to mention how successful they both were financially.   Wow!

We really do appreciate you!

Our students love, love, love the book fair.  Rightly so!

Not long ago, an online thread was circulating about Scholastic Book Fair.  Tons of kids all over the country who are grown now, still remember and loved when they were in elementary and middle school shopping the book fair.

They even remember how it felt not having any money to shop with.  How mad they were at their moms and dads too!  Hah!

That’s why it’s fun to have give-away’s!  Everyone likes to have their names picked from a book fair bucket.  Wouldn’t you?

Also, our students are encouraged to donate those leftover pennies, nickels and dimes from their change.  We use it for other students who may run a little short on money, or to go towards books for classrooms.

So, thank you again…  even for those little leftover pennies, nickels and dimes!

They mean a lot!

  1. Great Book Fair!!! Well organized and lots of good reading!!!

  2. As always, the Book Fair was fun, I would not miss it for anything. Ms. Palmeri is the best. She cares about the children, she knows each and every child that comes in by name and directs them to the area of their interest. As a volunteer I can only say I am overwhelmed with the love and caring she has that each and every student read a book to enrich their life. You rock Pam, and thank you for being who you are, for the children that attend St. A’s. Pam, you do make a difference in all the children’s lives, thank you for all you do!!! Grama Nanc.

    • Nancy: You are so right! Well said! Lots of hard work to make the Book Fair run soooo smoothly!!
